Her Heart

And her heart beat for the world

She felt the pain of each struggling soul

Her hands ached to heal every undeserved wound

She loved and loved and loved and at times she felt that was all she had to give, never feeling like it was enough

She lived outside of herself

With a stinging obligation to save

She knew she was here for a purpose much larger than she could ever comprehend

A purpose that haunted even her sweetest dreams

And she knew she couldn’t rest until that purpose was fulfilled

Until her heart beat for a world of happiness, not a world of fear

A world of kindness, not a world of hate

Waiting for the heartbeat that brought her peace

And with each day that passed, it seemed as though the beat of heartbreak was the only one she’d every know

But onward she pushed

With time, the calm will come
